Awarded Network: The South-West Electric Mobility Cluster Receives the ECEI GOLD Label Once Again

The South-West Electric Mobility Cluster, of which ERNST Umformtechnik is a member, has once again been awarded the ECEI GOLD label.

The award recognizes a strong innovation network that drives collaboration and technology transfer in the field of electromobility. As part of the cluster, ERNST Umformtechnik benefits from new ideas, strategic partnerships, and participation in projects.

The South-West Electric Mobility Cluster, coordinated by the state agency e-mobil BW, was awarded the ECEI GOLD-Label  for the fourth time in 2026—the European quality standard for excellent cluster work. As an active member of this network, ERNST Umformtechnik is also part of a strong innovation community that is playing a key role in shaping the transformation of the automotive industry.

The award specifically recognizes the close collaboration between companies, research institutions, and public stakeholders, as well as the successful transfer of innovations into industrial applications. The cluster drives forward key future topics such as electromobility, battery technologies, and digital production.

Focus on Collaboration: Driving Innovations Forward Together

The South-West Electric Mobility Cluster serves as a platform for technology transfer and cooperation. Joint projects and initiatives generate solutions that are directly translated into industrial practice—from the training of skilled workers to new production technologies.

One example is the Qualifizierungsinitiative QualiBattBW training initiative, through which more than 500 skilled workers from over 150 companies have been trained in battery technologies since 2024. Similarly, research projects such as  AgiloDrive2 demonstrate how innovative production concepts for electric motors are being developed and successfully implemented in industrial applications.
